The Killaloe Unit of the Irish Coast Guard were called to assist a yacht that went aground in Tinerrana Bay. The yacht had two adults and five children on board, the children and one adult were taken by Killaloe Coast Guard to Twomile Gate by their Rib and then transported to Ballina by Coast Guard Vehicle. The Skipper of the vessel remained on board until the local unit returned. After some time the yacht was freed from the rocks and returned to Derg Marina under its own power escorted by Killaloe Coast Guard Unit.
