S92A Training at Killaloe


Killaloe Coast Guard Unit carried out an Exercise with the New S92A Irish Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter Crew. Limerick Search & Rescue and the RNLI were part of this training session which was carried out at Ballina GAA Pitch. 

Training carried out were 
prepare Landing Sight and implement safety procedures relating to area, ground and crowd control. 


preparing and placing a stretcher on board whilst engine and props were on plus helicopter performed low hover so all crews could experieme the feelilng of downward flow.

Explanations of winching was given. One member of each service was also given the opportunity to be winched from the ground.

the Pilots and winch-men conducted tours of the Helicopter and covered logistics, medical, safety, mechanical and advised procedures when required  to work with casualty on boad.
