Boating Season open at Killaloe

Killaloe was tasked by Valentia Coast Guard Station to assist a 32' hired cruiser that had gone aground on Lough Derg out side navigation channel. The Cruiser had 9 persons on board and was on its way from Killaloe to Garrykennedy. Killaloe Coast Guard checked the craft for any damage and then towed it to deeper water. The Cruiser with the nine passengers under its own power was escorted to Killaloe with A member of the Killaloe Coast Guard Unit in control.
