Killaloe Coast Guard was called by a member of the public who were concerned that 8 teenagers who were on the northern side of the Lough Derg in a 17’ Lake Boat and wearing no life jackets. Killaloe Coast Guard was requested by the Coast Guard Command Centre at Valentia to investigate and advise. The Rescue Boat was launched and after some time located the teenagers on Bushy Isle just off Mount Shannon it became apparent at this stage that the lake boat had been used without the owner’s consent the Coast Guard Boat took the teenagers on board and the boat in tow to an nearby slipway were Killaloe Coast Guard Vehicles and Garda from Scarriff were waiting.
