Three Saved on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked along with the RNLI Lifeboat Dromineer and the Irish Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 115 from Shannon. The alarm was raised when a yacht heard a cry for help in the water near Hare Isl. On arrival two persons had already been taken from the water by the yacht and a third was taken by Killaloe Coast Guard it was decided that the RNLI Lifeboat and the Killaloe Coast Guard take the casualties to Dromineer where they were airlifted by Rescue 115 to the Regional Hospital Limerick suffering from hypothermia. The quick response of all services in very difficult condition defiantly saved lives, their sunken craft was not found.
