17 year old rescued from steep revene

Killaloe Coast Guard were called to assist an ambulance crew from the HSE. The call came after the 17 year old fell down a reven in an area known localy as the Glen Garraunnboy Killaloe and dislocated his knee the teenager had his mobile phone and was able to raise the alarm, however the reven was too steep to allow the stretcher to be carried out. The local Killaloe Coast Guard unit was called to assist, and area was quickley prepared to allow forthe landing and evacuation by the Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter from Shannon. Due to nature of the scene it was decided by the Rescue Heicopter to Airlift the casuatly through the overhanging tree canopy. The teenager was taken to the Limerick Regional Hospital were he was treated for his injuries.
