Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were called to assist in the search for an elderly farmer that went missing at 16:00hrs, near Quinn in Co Clare neighbours, Gardai and civil defence conducted a search of the area, however as darkness set in the Coast Guard Helicopter from Shannon and the Killaloe coast Guard were asked to assist in the search.
The farmer was located by the Irish Coast Guard helicopter and airlifted to the Regional Hospital in Limerick were his condition was said to be stable.
