29/04/08 at 20:00hrs Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were called by a member of the public to a Speed Boat in trouble just off SallyBay on Lough Derg. Our D Class Rib which was on training responded to assist. Another report came in that a second craft which tried to assist the first craft had also got into difficulty. The Coast Guard unit at Killaloe launched a second Rescue Rib to assist both injured craft were taken under tow to a private harbour on Lough Derg. Conditions at the time were a force 4 NW wind.
