Killaloe Coast Guard were called when a 22 year old male fell approx 20ft into the water at the Lakeside Hotel. The Coast Guard Rescue Rib was immediatly launched and the casualty taken to the Killaloe Coast Guard Base where he was treated for Hypothermia and minor injuries befor been taken by ambulance to the Regional Hospital in Limerick. Volunteers from the Killaloe Coast Guard Unit attended an Incident Scenario which was part of the Association of Ambulance Personnel Conference held in Athlone over the weekend. Killaloe Coast Guard were tasked to assist a 20' Yacht that lost its engine power on Lough Derg. The report stated that the craft was one mile north of Killaloe however the Killaloe Coast Guard had to fire two Luminating Flares to find the craft which was 5 miles north of Killaloe in  total darkness. Killaloe Coast Guard Unit were called when a private cruiser had enginge failure in strong currents just north of Killaloe Bridge. The cruiser was pulled to safety by a member of the Coast Guard unit and moored safely at the New slip at Ballina.
