Tasked to Deer Rock on Lough Derg

Killaloe Coast Guard were called when one boat tried to tow another boat of the rocks at Derrycastle on Lough Derg. Due to the high winds both craft got into difficulty. Killaloe Coast Guard evacuated the smaller vessel and took six persons onto its own vessel then took their boat under tow to Killaloe. The second vessel went under its own power to Killaloe Coast Guard Station at the pier head were medical assistance was given to a casuality for rope burn and fracture to right lower arm. an ambulance from Scarriff took the casuality to the regional Hospital Limerick for further treatment. The remaining adult and two children were escorted safely to their mooring at Killaloe.

No of casualties 9 adults 2 children 2 power boats.
