On the 23rd February 2008 Killaloe Coast Guard Unit assisted Local Gardai, Irish Coast Guard Helelicopter from Shannon and Lough Derg lifeboat from Dromineer in the search for a male who was kayaking near Caher Isl Scarriff Bay. The Kayaker was found and the remains taken to Killaloe Coast Guard Base for removal to Regional Hospital Limerick.

Missing Kayaker Scarriff Bay Lough Derg
